LOCKMED MISSION STATEMENT:

LOCKMED's Mission is to develop products to help safeguard medications, to raise awareness on how to safeguard medications, and to reduce the problem of prescription drug abuse in the United States.

COMPANY INFORMATION:

LOCKMED is a medical product company based in Jacksonville, FL. Our objective is to keep high-risk individuals safe and healthy, by suppling medication Lockbags and Lockboxes to individuals, government agencies, charitable organizations, and health care facilities throughout the US and Canada. Lockmed is now one of the leading firms in the nation focused on developing products to store medications to help reduce the problem of prescription drug abuse.

Lockmed was started in 2008 by M. Bud Lateef, MD, a UPMC trained pain management physician, who became alarmed at the problem of prescription drug abuse when he started practice. Out of this concern and the growing national problem, he began to develop and distribute products to safeguard medications with the assistance of the local Small Business Development Center at Duquesne University.

Since that time LOCKMED products have been used throughout the United States by facilities, institutions, and homeowners to safely store medications. The products are available directly through our website as well as distributed by hundreds of Authorized LOCKMED government agencies, non-profits, health care facilities and select distributors in all 50 states within the US. LOCKMED has been awarded a Good Housekeeping Editor's Choice Award, as well as an Award of Distinction by AIVA for The Communicator Award honoring excellence in marketing and communication.

LOCKMED has additionally taken the lead in educational efforts on the need to safeguard medications in the home. The company has built a coalition in the form of partnerships with over 100 Drug Task Forces and Community Coalition groups on a national level to highlight this issue. We have subsidized the cost of tens of thousands of LOCKMED products so these groups can distribute medication lock boxes into high-risk communities
